Hole 2

A tactical hole taking three good shots over two hazards to get to an elevated green guarded by hazards left and right and which slopes back to front. Even then two putts are not guaranteed for a par!

Hole 3

Stunning long par 3. Take note of any wind from the protected tee. A good tee shot is required to set up an up and down for par. Hitting the green is cause for celebration!

Hole 4

Easiest par 4 on the card. A short fairway tapering to a two tier green with the road on the left, out of bounds beyond and boundary fencing on the left.

Hole 5

Positioning is key with the drive and second shot to leave a shot into a large undulating green. Beware the bunkers in front of the green to catch long range attempts in two.

Hole 6

Tricky par three invariably into a cross wind. The defence for this hole is the valley green where a downhill putt is always a danger.

Hole 7

Getting a flat lie for your second shot is a bonus. Any drive drifting right may be caught in the dunes. A long second into a narrow green protected on left by gorse and bunker.

Hole 8

Blind bunker shot over sand dunes. Hole dog-legs slightly around the dunes to the right, a long bowl bunker awaits.

Classic links golf hole with undulating fairway, hidden bunkers dune grass. tough rough and a bowl shaped green.

Hole 10

Keep left of the tall pines for any sort of second shot. Blind second shot into a sloping green from front to back. Yardage chart is a must here.

Hole 11

An intimidating hole invariably into the wind. A classic long par 4 with bunkers left and right guarding any wayward long second. Walking away with a par here is a great result.

Hole 12

A short par 4 back towards the clubhouse. A valley shaped green and a sneaky bunker short left to catch any shot trying to use those contours. Right of way for road users.

Hole 13

Into parkland. Two ditches to negotiate and a shot to the plateau green sloping back to front, that will need extra club. Beware of the breeze, the tee is generally sheltered.

Hole 14

Be sure of your yardages on this side hill par 3. Anything long is likely to be caught by the bunker at the back, anything left of the green will require a tricky chip back.

Hole 15

A sweeping left to right par 4 with tough rough on the right to catch wayward shots. A plateau green with a shallow bunker protecting the back requires a good second shot, usually with more club than you think.

Hole 16

Short downhill par 3. Either rely on a good bounce for a short shot or hit high to stop on the green. Anything drifting right will likely be caught by the greenside bunkers.

Hole 17

A drive over the marker post needs to be long enough to cross the ditch. The fairway sweeps right into a taper onto a raised green sloping front to back. Beware ditch on left of green.

Hole 18

Par 3 back to the clubhouse with OOB alongside the left all the way through to the green. Two greenside bunkers right to catch any “safe”shot.
